A Reo-Pirsch triple combination pumper has been ordered by the fire department of Union Grove, Wis. The city of Middletown, Ohio, has awarded a contract for an Ahrens-Fox 800-gallon triple combination pumper for its fire department. The fire department of Syracuse, N. Y., is to add an Ahrens-Fox 800-gallon triple combination pumper to its apparatus, a contract for this unit having been awarded recently. The fire department of Peoria, Ill, has purchased two Pierce-Arrow-Pirsch city service ladder trucks, one PackardPirsch double tank chemical and hose cart, and one PackardPirsch straight hose car. According to a report by George H. Nettleton, state fire marshal of Minnesota, the fires for September, 1921, totaled 168 in the state with a loss on buildings and contents of $428,851, with a valuation of $2,675,040.
