After considerable losses by fire the village of Comstock, Neb., held a meeting of citizens with the object of considering the installation of an efficient water works system. The property owners of Gurdon, Ark., have petitioned the city council for the formation of an improvement district to construct a water works and sewerage system for the town. Water supply gold bonds to the amount of one million dollars bearing interest at 4 1/2 per cent, for the city of Providence, R. I., were on sale in New York City about the middle of January.
