Personal Contact in Membership Campaign At the present time the American Water Works Association is conducting a drive for members throughout this country and Canada. In circulars sent out from the secretary’s office members are urged to make an endeavor to get two hundred recruits between now and convention time. An excellent method is suggested in these circulars, that of personal letters to any water works men that they think may be interested in joining the association. There is no doubt that this method of personal letters to or, even better yet, personal contact with a prospective member is the best way of reaching him. The member himself knowing and experiencing the advantages that have come to him through the association has a splendid talking point from this very fact and should easily be able to persuade those he wishes to influence as to the advantages of the membership.
