Chief Aungst Goes to South America Chief Arthur S. Aungst, who gained considerable prominence as chief of the fire departments of Alliance and East Liverpool, Ohio, and more recently as head of both the town and plant fire departments of the Merchants Shipbuilding Corp., at Harriman, Pa., has accepted an offer to organize an up-to-date fire protection system at Medellin, Colombia, South America. He sailed from New York, June 7, to take up his new duties. The city, which has a population of approximately 75.000, is anxious to place its fire department on a thoroughly modern and efficient basis and 3,-^ot in touch with ^ Chief Aungst through the Amsinck Company. The trip to Medellin will take about three weeks and in addition to the ocean iourney travelling will be done by rail, river, bus and likely horseback before the destination is reached.
