Fire Protection of Schools With the opening of the school sessions throughout the country the question of the safety of the scholars from the perils of fire has again been brought prominently to the fore. Some twenty-five million youngsters are assembled in the school houses throughout the United States during school hours and the most important matter connected with this host of the most precious lives of the republic is that of rendering these structures safe from the ravages of fire. A mighty responsibility rests upon the shoulders of the school board in cities and towns in this regard. It is their duty to see to it that the structures which house these precious little ones are properly built so as to prevent fire from starting, or if started, that it may be quickly controlled and that the occupants be given a chance to escape with the least possible danger.…
