Proposed Fire Station for Boston

Issue 23 and Volume 72.

Proposed Fire Station for Boston It is proposed to utilize an unexpended balance of upward of $125,000 with which it is expected that the Boston, Mass., fire department will end the fiscal year for the erection of a central fire station at the junction of Shawmut Avenue and Tromont Street. Mayor Curley has expressed his desire to have this done and has suggested that added to what remains in the reserve fund this sum will be sufficient for the erection of a $250,000 structure. If the plan comes through the new station will have a forty foot frontage and will extend back over the subway incline about 85 feet, with a ninety foot width at its rear.
