Considerable Saving and Increased Speed Result of Adoption of Electricity in the Water Works Pumping Station-Some Test Figures FIGURES of pumping tests and records of performances are always of interest to water works superintendents for purposes of comparison, especially when these tests show evidence of economy. The following paper will prove of value along this line, as showing what one department has accomplished: Mr. Sanders, who has been connected with the Concord water department for 24 years, having entered its employ in 1898, as foremen, was appointed as superintendent on March 18, 1907. As foreman and superintendent he has had charge of practically relaying the water mains of the city, which were originally put down in 1872 with cast iron pipe.
