Chief Gross of Red Wing Reelected

Chief Gross of Red Wing Reelected Chief John A. Gross of the fire department of Red Wing. Minn., was reelected at the annual meeting of the board of fire commissioners of that city, which occurred on January 4, and his salary was raised $100, making, it $1,900 per annum. Chief Gross has served for nearly two years as head of the fire fighting forces of Red Wing. He is also secretary of the Minnesota State Fire Department Association. Assistant Chief August Olson was again chosen to that post, his salary being fixed at $1,560 per year. Mr. Olson has seen long service with the department and its progress is due in no small degree to his efforts. The annual report of Chief Gross for the year ending December 31, 1922, shows that the department answered 83 alarms, 45 being phone calls, 35 box alarms, and three automatic sprinkler alarms. The…
