WATER WORKS FINANCES TAKEN UP AT NEW YORK SECTION MEETING Speaker at Luncheon Emphasizes Necessity for Superintendents Familiarizing Themselves with Subject— Up-State Meeting Declared Success—Good Attendance A SUCCESSFUL repetition of the experiment tried last year by the New York section of the American Water Works Association of an up-state meeting was staged on Saturday, April 7, when over 100 engineers and superintendents of water works gathered at the Powers Hotel in Rochester, N. Y., and sat down to a luncheon at 12:30 P. M. These men represented the water works of cities and towns from every section of the state, and some of them came from New England and other more remote parts of the country. During the luncheon the members were entertained by an Irish song, sung by F. T. Kemble, secretary of the New Rochelle Water Company.
