Norwalk, Conn., Now Has Its Own Pumper Having relied upon the fire equipment of Westport, Darien and Stamford for the past several years, the city of Norwalk, Conn., has added its first modern piece of fire apparatus that has been purchased for this volunteer force in recent years. The apparatus is an American-LaFrance triple combination pumper, which is shown herewith. The new machine will be stationed at the Phoenix Engine company to replace the American-LaFrance horse-drawn steamer of the old fashioned type, that is now out of use. This is the first move of the city of Norwalk to modernize its fire fighting apparatus and it is expected to he followed soon by the appropriation of a large sum for further purchases of apparatus for the firemen.
