British Water Company Adopts Centrifugals The following description of the pumps for the town of Dudley, England, will be interesting as showing the type of high-lift centrifugal pumps in use in that country. The installation, according to the author, is typical of British high-class water works units. In connection with the water works pumping the high lift centrifugal pump makes slow progress in bidding for favor of British engineers, but its outstanding advantages in certain situations is being more appreciated and it is interesting to note that the plant illustrated has been installed by the South Staffordshire Water Company, a concern which supplies a large number of important manufacturing towns in the Midlands.
