Valuation As Influenced By Courtesy At first sight, the above title would seem to be a trifle far-fetched and very little relation would appear between the valuation of a utility and the courtesy and consideration with which it has been in the habit of treating its customers. And yet, with a little consideration, it will be seen that there is a very close relation between the two. The trend of public sentiment toward the water company, when the water of the community is supplied by a concern whose ownership is in private hands, is almost always guided by the attitude of the officials of that company and their employees. If a spirit of courtesy, patience and consideration combined with a progressive attitude is the guiding motive of their relations with their customers, there will be a natural reciprocation on the part of the consumers.
