Steelton Water Department Has Profit—The report of the water commission of Steelton, Pa., for 1922, shows that the water department produced a profit of $18,571.19. The total receipts from all sources was $54,946.64 and the expenditures were $36,375.45. New Main in North Birmingham, Ala.—Water was turned into the new 12-inch main of the municipal water plant of North Birmingham, Ala., on June 9. The capacity of the city’s water distribution system will be more than doubled by the installation of the-new main, it is claimed. Leaky Fixtures Cause Water Waste—Unless the householders of Kingston, N. Y., repair their leaky fixtures the water department will shut off the supply of water. At present the residents are consuming water at the rate of about 5,000,000 gallons a day, while the average consumption should not exceed 4,250,000…
