Presentation to Bridgeport Chaplain

Presentation to Bridgeport Chaplain Before 100 firemen, assembled in the recreation room of fire headquarters, Bridgeport, Conn., on September 8, Rev. Father Michael J. Thompson, chaplain of the Bridgeport fire department, was presented with a solid gold badge and purse of gold by the men of the department in appreciation for the services he has rendered as chaplain since his appointment two years ago. The badge, beautifully engraved with a spread eagle on top and a plain cross in the center, was inscribed with the chaplain’s name and dated August 13, 1923, the day on which Father Thompson celebrated a memorial mass at St. Patrick’s R. C. Church, Bridgeport, for all departed members of the department. In presenting the badge to Father Thompson, Chief Daniel E.
