NEW JERSEY FIREMEN PUSH WELFARE MEASURES Sixteen Hundred Attend New Jersey State Firemen s Convention at Atlantic City MORE than 1,600 delegates, representing fire departments throughout the state of New Jersey gathered at Atlantic City, September 21-22 to attend the 46th annual convention of the New Jersey State Firemen’s Association. Committee reports, to which a greater part of the session was devoted, showed that excellent progress had been made and effective work done in getting under way various firemen’s relief measures, particularly the Death Benefit Fund. The establishment of this fund is one of the outstanding accomplishments of the organization for which credit is largely due to the untiring efforts, the sound judgment of the officers who have guided its notable career. During the year, too. the legislative committee was largely instrumental in having the legislature pass a bill bringing the Firemen’s Home at Boonton under the association’s control. A…
