PROPOSED WATER SYSTEM OF NEW CITY OF LONGVIEW How Mountain Streams of Natural Purity Will Be Utilized in the Supply—Dam to Be Thrown Across a Natural Basin A COMPLETE and well designed water system will be that which is contemplated for the new industrial city of Longview, which is now being built on the banks of the Columbia River in southwestern Washington. Twelve miles from the city site, in the heart of a high range of mountains, is an ideal watershed, through which runs a mountain stream. This watershed takes , the form of a wide valley, reaching back into the mountains for at least ten miles. More than 80 years ago the entire area was burned over by a forest fire.
