Two New Hartford, Conn., Apparatus With the recent purchase of two new pieces of fire apparatus, a Mack aerial hook and ladder truck and a pumper, the Hartford, Conn., fire department is now fully equipped to combat any conflagration that may arise. The aerial truck is 85 feet, with a 55 and 45-ft. extension ladder, two 30-ft. wall ladders, inside extension ladder, a 12 and 14-ft. roof ladder, two scaling ladders, a 25 and 18-ft. wall ladder and complete truck equipment. The pumper is a Mack 500-gallon triple combination and exceeded all requirements in its test at Colt’s dock in Hartford on October 12. The International Motor Company is also building another pumper for this city and there are two heavy combination AC high pressure hose wagons in service at Hartford.
