Issue 1 and Volume 75.

Batavia, Ohio, Has Large Reserve Supply In commenting on a recent fire which occurred in the city of Batavia, Ohio, Superintendent Albert Erion, of the Batavia Light and Water Works, made the statement that Batavia was better prepared for fire protection than many cities several times its size and that it has a large reserve supply of water on hand at all times for emergencies. There is practically 700,000 gallons of filtered water ready for instant use in case of fire and if necessary this amount can be increased several hundred thousand gallons more. The reservoirs are always kept full and at capacity hold 300,000 gallons.
