Work of Underwriters’ Laboratories for 1923 A report has been issued by the Underwriters’ Laboratories covering some twenty-six typewritten pages, giving a general summary of the great work which that institution has conducted during 1923. The report summarizes the work of the following departments: Protection, Hydraulic Electrical, Gases and Oils, Chemical, Casualty, Aviation, Label Service, and Public Relations. The report concludes with a description of building No. 6 under construction and also a reference to the fire prevention films which the Underwriters’ Laboratories have made for free distribution in Fire Prevention work. There were during the year, according to the report 1,460 visitors. Of this number, 420 were engaged in insurance work, 222 were engineers, 646 were students and 176 were engaged in miscellaneous occupations. Three of the guests were from India, and China, Czecho-Slovakia, England, Holland, Japan and Norway were represented by one visitor from each country. The work…
