Little Improvement in February Fire Losses Considering the fact that February is a short month, the record of its fire losses shows little improvement over that of January, according to Statistics n file in the offices of FIRE AND WATER ENGINEERING. The losses for the first two months of 1924 as compared with 1922 and 1923. are as follows: It will be seen that the losses for February in 1923 exceed those of 1924. There were ten less fires last month whose losses equalled or exceeded $10,000 than in the first month of the year, there being 601 in January and 591 in February. These fires occurring during February may be classified as follows; $10,000 to $20,000, 237; $20,000 to $30,000. 92; $30,000 to $40,000 , 36; $40.000 to $50,000, 63; $50,000 to $75,000. 31; $75,000 to $100,000, 21 ; $100,000 to $200,000. 69.
