Fire Truck Wrecked in Speed Test While testing an American-LaFrance fire apparatus in Aitadena, a suburb of Pasadena, Cal., the car struck the curb, rebounded to the center of the street and collided with a telegraph pole, causing the death of one person, the fatal injury of another and the more or less serious injury to three other men. The engine was being tested by the demonstrators and there were, besides George H. Herald, who was conducting the test for the manufacturers, W. S. Grassie, chairman of the fire prevention committee of the Aitadena Improvement Association, George Baker, member of the county forestry service, representing Los Angeles County at the test, R. C. Bradshaw and G. L. Kenly, another employee of the manufacturers.
