Roanoke Water Company Rate Fight Nears End The long-drawn-out legal battle between the Roanoke Water Works Company and the city of Roanoke, Va., in regard to water rates, entered its final stage early this month before the State Supreme Court of Appeals now in session at Wytheville. The Supreme Court is now being asked for a decision on the revised valuation handed down in a ruling by the State Corporation Commission on March 21 in which the valuation of the property is placed at $1,786,358. The water company claims a valuation of $2,207,754. The arguments in the case were presented and then submitted to the court for final decision which is expected to bring an end to the long litigation. It is not known whether or not the Supreme Court will hand down a decision at this session but it is not expected that the final answer will be made…
