Testimonial Dinner to Ex-Chief Moore, Newark A testimonial dinner to Ex-Chief Paul J. Moore,, formerly of the fire department of Newark, N. J., was tendered to him at the Krueger Auditorium in that city on the evening of June 17. Edward F. Maguire was chairman of the dinner committee, and Edward J. O’Brien was toastmaster. The speakers included Rev. Michael P. Corcoran, a chaplain of the fire department; Fire Chief John Kenlon of New York; City Commissioners Brennan and Gillen; Mr. Nugent and Rev. Dr. Howard. The blessing was asked by Rev. William J. Richmond, pastor of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church. Mr. O’Brien gave a short history of the life of Chief Moore in the fire department, and Chief Kenlon declared that soon after he had assumed command of the New York fire department he met Chief Moore and was impressed with the balance, quiet dignity and modesty…
