Plan Bremerton Fire Dept. Improvements

Issue 12 and Volume 76.

Plan Bremerton Fire Dept. Improvements Chief S. B. Lent of the Bremerton, Wash., fire department, in his first budget estimate that has just been filed with the city commissioners, has requested that provision be made for the improvement of the East Bremerton fire department branch unit in 1925 to involve a raise in the salaries of firemen, purchase of a triple combination car and fire hose, and the installation of additional fire hydrants and other improvements. The new pumper was recommended by the Washington Surveying and Rating Bureau to cover 450 points of the city’s 750 points deficiency necessary to justify present low insurance and tax rates. The report also contained a recommendation of a $25 a month increase in the salaries of fire chief and assistant fire chief, which would raise the salaries of these officers to $175 and $155 a month respectively.
