Fire Board of Milford Asks Budget Increase The board of fire commissioners of Milford, Conn., has asked the finance board in that city for an increase of $100,000 in the fire department budget in order that the city may be more adequately protected from fire. The fire board wants, among other things, a new fire station to cost $50,000, to be erected in the center of the city and which would take care of the city’s needs for many years to come. In addition the department requests the sum of $10,000 for a new city service truck and $7,000 for a new fire station at Fort Trumbull Beach to replace the structure destroyed several years ago. These requests, with expenses for salaries and maintenance of the department for the coming year, will bring the budget close to $100,000.
