Virginia State Firemen’s New President Captain E. J. Lamb, who was elected on August 21, as president of the Virginia State Firemen’s Association and whose portrait is presented herewith, is in command of Hose Company No. 4 of the Harrisonburg, Va., fire department. He started his career as a fireman in Hose Company No. 4, when he was 15 years of age and has held every office in the local company. Captain Lamb in his capacity as head of the fire department completely motorized the fire-fighting forces of Harrisonburg and it is now looked upon as one of the best equipped of the smaller fire departments in Virginia. Improvements have just been made in the fire station of the company amounting to $1,500 and the building is now a credit to the city of Harrisonburg, it being equipped with a handsome meeting room, dance and banquet hall.
