Lincoln, Ill., Water Rates in 1890 An interesting document has been unearthed by F. L. Tatro, a resident of Lincoln, Ill., consisting of the price rate of the Lincoln Water and Light Company tor the year 1890. This document reads as follows: Lowest annual rate $5 and no contract for less than one year. Patrons supplying water to neighbors will be charged for extra residence. Sprinkling: 1/8 nozzle, per foot 8 cents. No lot counted less than $5. Street sprinkling, per foot 5 cents. When on corner both streets counted; not to be used more than 4 hours a day. When hose-holders are used, fountain rates will be charged.
