Better Grand Junction Fire-Figliting Facilities The City of Grand Junction, Colorado, has just completed improvements which have materially improved its fire-fightin facilities, including a new 13,500,000-gallon concrete storage reservoir, a 16-inch cast iron main from the reservoir under the bed of the Colorado River to the distributing system and several miles of cast iron pipe replacing steel in the distribution system and strengthening the circulation. A new American La France Type 89 400-gallon tuple combination car was delivered in August and passed the Underwriters’ test, giving Chief Jack Hynes two pieces _ot American La France equipment, the first being a Type 75, 750-gallon pumper, which was purchased in 1921.
