November Heavy Fire Loss Month There was considerable of a jump in the fire loss in the United States and Canada for the month of November, 1924. as compared with that of the previous month, according to the records on file at the offices of FIRE AND WATER ENGINEERING, there being an increase of nearly $10,000,000. This increase apparently has been caused by the extra number of fires rather than there being any unusual amount of fires with heavy losses. The figures for the eleven months of 1922, 1923 and 1924 are as follows: As before referred to the number of fires in November exceeded those of October by 76, there being 457 fires of $10,000 losses and over against 381 for October.
