Southern N. Y. Firemen Meet at Sea Cliff. N. Y. The Southern New York Volunteer Firemen’s Association held their thirtieth annual meeting on June 9 to 11 at Sea Cliff, L. I., N. Y. The meeting on the first day was opened by a prayer by Dr. Charles D. Madison, and was followed by an address of welcome by Griffith H. Clapham, president of the village. Rev. Joseph R. Alten. vice-president of the association, responded to the welcome. Addresses were made by Ex-Presidents P. J. McCarthy, Archer D. Wallace and Frank J. Howland. An address was made by Assemblyman Kennedy in which he deplored the lack of interest taken by the younger men. The program committee did not include the tournament feature in the convention, and the number of younger men which generally follow such events, were absent.
