Cloudburst Threatens Asotin Valley Supply

Issue 3 and Volume 78.

Cloudburst Threatens Asotin Valley Supply As a result of a cloudburst, the water supply for Clarkston and Asotin which is received through a 48-inch pipe line front a point ten miles up Asotin Creek was seriously threatened recently. About one hundred and fifty feet of the line was wiped out. The Pacific Power and Light Company had one hundred men with parts to repair the damage on the scene within a short time, and the debris was cleared away and provisions were made to repair the aqueduct which carries the pipe line over the gulleys. Only by the strictest economy of the water consumers and the prompt work of the water company officials, was a water famine averted.
