HOSE COUPLING STANDARDIZATION IN THE NEW ENGLAND STATES How the Work Has Been Pushed, Especially in Massachusetts and Connecticut To be Extended to Other States GREAT progress has been made in several states in the work of standardization of hose couplings and hydrant openings. A notable advance has been made in the southern New England States, especially Massachusetts and Connecticut, in this respect and the following paper gives some interesting details of these accomplishments: In order that to trace the progress of the work of standardizing the threads of hose couplings and hydrant openings in New England, through the various stages I will first enumerate the number of sets of standardization tools which are engaged in the work today and the departments and organizations loaning same.
