Information on National Standard Fire Hose Coupling Threads The three “Sponsor Organizations,” the National Board of Fire Underwriters, the American Water Works Association and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers have recently issued three pamphlets giving full information as to the “National (American) Standard Fire-Hose Coupling Screw Thread for all Connections having Nominal Inside Diameters of 2 1/2, 3, 3 1/2 and 4 1/2 Inches.” This thread was approved by the American Engineering Standards Committee in May. 1925. and has been officially approved by the following organizations: American Water Works Association; Brass Hose Fittings Manufacturer’s Association; Bureau of Standards—U. S.
