Kansas City Fire Department Bond Issue Endorsed by Public Improvement Association The proposed bond issue of $1,510,000 for improvements in the Kansas City, Mo., fire department, has, according to information from Chief Alexander Henderson, been unanimously approved and endorsed by the Kansas City Public Improvement Association. The chief writes “This amount, provided the bond issue is successful, will put our department in first class condition. We are very optimistic in regard to the result of the election.” The program of improvement calls for the doing away of a number of poor and unserviceable apparatus and their replacement by new and up-to-date machines. Of the fire apparatus in the 29 fire stations, 19 are in good condition; one is rated as fair; 17 poor, and one very poor.
