Two More of Brockton Arson Gang Sentenced

Two More of Brockton Arson Gang Sentenced Judge Henry T. Lummus, of the Massachusetts Superior Court, on August 13 sentenced two more of the alleged arson gang of Brockton, Mass., to long prison terms. This was the culmination of a sensational trial the results of which were published in the July 22 issue of FIRE AND WATER ENGINEERING. The present cases were disposed of at a special session of the court ordered by Judge Lummus after he had granted both defendants a stay of execution permitting them to settle up business matters. Tried with Spekin and Solomon on similar counts were John Messey and Liberate Rivelli, who were also convicted and had their cases filed. Each is serving a long State prison sentence for the alleged setting of previous fires in Brockton.
