Nashville to Extend Water Works The city council of Nashville, Tenn., on September 14, took definite steps toward extension of the city water works plant, and the expenditure of $1,000,00!) derived from the recent sale of bonds, by giving first reading to the ordinance authorizing the appropriation and expenditure of the available funds. The hill provides for additions that will, it is planned, give Nashville one of the finest water plants in the South. The council also authorized the expenditure of $2,000 for the purchase of fire hose to take the place of equipment that is practically worn out, it was explained. Urbana, O., to Drill New Wells—An emergency measure was passed by the city council of Urbana, Ohio, for drilling new wells at the municipal water works to offset the city’s water shortage.
