Survey Made of Glendale, Cal. A report of the survey of Glendale, Cal., made by the committee on fire prevention and engineering standards of the National Board of Fire Underwriters has just been issued. The report states that the organization of the municipal water works is efficient, and in the main, the records are complete. The sources of water supply are adequate for present needs. The low and high-lift pumping capacity is satisfactory. The city contemplates additional storage to the present moderate capacity. The water pressures are moderately high with the arterial system fair. The gate valves are in excellent condition although the spacing in the principal mercantile districts is rather wide. The hydrants which arc mostly of small size or pour type are in fair condition. The fire department is on a two-platoon basis under suitable supervision and control.
