Bridgeport Firemen to Receive Increase An increase in wages for all members of the Bridgeport, Conn., fire department was unanimously adopted by vote of the members of the board of aldermen in that city on December 21. The new scale will go into effect on April 1, 1926. Every grade A firemen will receive an increase of $300 annually which will bring the salary up to $2,300 per year. Grade B men will receive $2,200 and Grade C men the sum of $2,100. The salary of Chief Engineer Daniel E. Johnson has been raised $500, which brings his pay to $5,500. Assistant chiefs were given an increase of $500, making the salary for this office $3,500, while captains were raised from $2,700 to $3,000, an increase of $300.
