Testimonial to Ex-Chief Crowe, Westboro A testimonial dinner was given to Ex-Chief John P. Crowe, of Westboro, Mass., on December 17 in Odd Fellows’ Hall. Members of the Westboro fire department, board of selectmen, out-of-town chiefs, and officers of the Massachusetts Forestry Department attended. Chief Crowe was recently appointed a state forest fire warden and has therefore severed his connection with the fire department. He first joined the Westboro department in 1890 as a member of the Curtis Hose Co., and served later as assistant foreman, foreman, and lieutenant, being made a captain in 1889. He was appointed to the Board of Fire Engineers on May 8, 1900, and served as chief of department for a number of years. The committee in charge of the banquet was composed of Chief Thomas H.
