Chief of Oak Park, Ill., Dead Walter C. Wolff, chief of the fire department at Oak Park, Ill., died after a year of acute illness. He went to Oak Park in June, 1918, and joined the local fire department. By constant application to his duties, he built up the department to its present efficiency. The funeral was attended by city officials, by details from both the police and the fire departments and by chiefs from the neighboring cities. He is survived by his widow, three daughters, aged parents, one brother and three sisters. In order to accommodate the large number who attended the services, hut who were unable to find seats in the church, a system of amplifiers were installed in the basement of the church through the courtesy of station WGES.
