Sacramento Wins Thomas H. Ince Cup The Thomas H. Ince fire prevention trophy for cities on the Pacific Coast of 100,000 population or over, has been awarded to Sacramento, Cal., for its fire prevention record for the period 1925-1926. The points in determining the awards are based on the reduction in the number of fire alarms, arson activities, elimination of fire hazards, inspection and a better fire department efficiency over that of the year previous. Chief M. J. Dunphy has worked hard for this award and in line with this work has carried out a very effective Fire Prevention Week program. About 12.500 home inspection blanks were distributed to the children of the various city schools, and 5,000 self inspection blanks were distributed to the merchants.
