Many Chiefs Attend Browning Funeral Forty chiefs from various New England towns and cities attended the funeral of the late Chief Robert Browning of Central Falls, R. I., who died while assisting in fighting a fire at Pawtucket. The three hour funeral service was conducted at St. George’s Episcopal Church. After prayers at the family home, the funeral procession passed to the church through streets lined with people anxious to pay the last respects to the gallant fire-fighter. Honorary bearers comprising city officials and fire department heads of nearby communities followed the hearse while or. either side walked the active pall bearers—four lieutenants and four captains of the department.
