Bangor Has $750,000 Fire Three large buildings on Main Street in the heart of the business district of Bangor, Me., were destroyed by flames on the night of Feb. 13 with a loss estimated at $750,000. For three hours the fire raged uncontrolled and assistance was called from outside cities to aid the Bangor firemen. The blaze originated from an unknown cause in the Coe Building, a four-story brick and stone structure at Columbia and Cross Streets. A second alarm followed the first within a few minutes and at 10 p. m. a general alarm was sounded. At 11.30 Mayor John Wilson called out the members of Company M of the Maine State Guard to assist in keeping order. By this time Brewer and Oldtown had sent apparatus to the scene.
