Association Endeavoring to Have Legislation Passed to Secure Necessary Land — Some Congressmen Agreeable to Move—Others Will Be Approached FIRE chiefs, members of the International Association of Fire Chiefs, believe that the time has arrived for them to make a concerted stand for a national headquarters building to be erected at Washington and which will serve as a place for the dissemination of fire prevention and fire fighting data. At the convention held in New Orleans in 1926 a resolution was adopted calling for the appointment of a committee to try to secure a plot upon which this building will be erected. Chief Thomas R. Murphy of San Francisco has been named chairman of this unit and he has appointed the following committeemembers: Fred Shepperd, Managing Editor, FIRE ENGINEERING; Chief George S.
