Two Cities Place Large Apparatus Orders Both New York and Boston have placed orders for large fleets of apparatus with the American-LaFrance and Foarmte Corporation. New York City ordered fifteen 75-foot aerial trucks and six special 700-gallon pumpers. This is the largest order that New York has placed since 1925. At that time twenty-eight American-LaFrance units were purchased. Boston ordered six 85-foot aerial trucks, one 750-gallon pumper and six triple combination cars. With this order, Boston will have 155 pieces of this company’s make in service.
