TEXARKANA CHIEF TO HEAD SOUTHWESTERN FIRE GROUP Convention Held in Shreveport, La., With Chief Flores as Host—Next Gatheringe to Be Held in Oklahoma City—200 Chiefs Attend AN interesting program was arranged for the two hundred chiefs who attended the annual convention of the Southwestern Fire Chiefs Association that was held in Shreveport, La., March 25. 26 and 27. It was agreed that Chief Flores proved to be a very good host. Chief J. E. Taplin, Blackwell. Okla.,Fire Department, President of the Association, presided at the sessions. At the election of officers. Chief W. J. Springer of Texarkana, was elected president. The other officers are Chief S. J, Flores, first vice-president a n d Chief George Goff of Oklahoma City, second vicepresident. Chief Tom Lyle of Okmulgee, Okla., was reelected secretary-treasurer.
