Elmira Plans School A sectional school for fire departments located in the vicinity of Elmira, N. Y., may be started some time in June as a result of recommendations made at the Mayor’s Conference. Elmira will be the training point for firemen from Corning, Bath, Watkins, Hornell and Waverlv. Departments from Elmira Heights, Horseheads and Sayre will also participate. New York State will be divided into twelve zones, and it is planned to establish a school in each district. According to present plans, training points may lie established at Elmira, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Utica, Watertown. Schenectady, Albany, Poughkeepsie, Yonkers and Binghamton. Peekskill, N. Y., to Buy New Apparatus—Peekskill, N. Y., is considering an appropriation of $26,000 for the purchase of two pieces of fire apparatus.
