THREE DAY FIREMEN’S SCHOOLS PLANNED FOR STATE COLLEGES Proposed Course Being Arranged by Special Committee of National Fire Waste Council—Many Subjects to be Presented THE Fire Service Extension Committee of the National Fire Waste Council was appointed to organize in each state a short course for firemen, to be conducted under the auspices of the State Universities. In states having no state university, one of the leading educational institutions will be asked to conduct the court. The plan has already been tried in a number of states and the results accomplished justify the extension of this training to all parts of the Union. In addition to practical instruction in the best methods of fire department ntanoeuvering, including the raising of ladders, laying of hose, ventilation of burning buildings, and rescue and first aid work, the firemen and officers will be taught building construction, fire prevention, elementary hydraulics, knowledge of dangerous…
