System Crippled

Issue 1 and Volume 86.

System Crippled The entire fire alarm system of Hallowell, Me., was crippled by a gasoline explosion in the rear of the fire station. Before much damage was done to the fire station, the fire apparatus was removed. The family of the department driver narrowly escaped with their lives as they fled from the apartment on the second floor of the building. Brick walls of the station prevented the spread of fire to other buildings.
