That area is suffering both from a shortage of rainfall and a shortage of business for its excellent wine. in some places wine has been literally cheaper than water, and fire departments are using barrels of it carelessly for extinguishing blazes where water is scarce. Worthington, Ky., has purchased fire apparatus equipped with a 200-gallon booster tank.
